Shiatsu Fundraising for the
victims of Philippine Haiyan On December 7, 2013, Fundraising for the victims of Philippine Haiyan, which was organized by "IZUMIYA Japanese Market", was held at IZUMIYA Japanese Market in Richmond. The CSSBC was grad to co-sponsor the event, and offered "Shiatsu demonstration" for the public. CSSBC offered Shiatsu treatments for 13 people, and collected $275. Other volunteers offered a mini concert by Tsugaru-shamisen and Taiko for 30min. Many people visited the event and donated some money with their sincere heart. Total $869.64 was collected by the fundraising, and all money was sent to the AMDA INTERNATIONAL through AMADA CANADA, and it will be used for te victimes of Philippine Haiyan. Continuing
Professional Education report
On September 7, 2013, Continuing Professional Education was held at YWCA Hotel Vancouver. The CSSBC invited Hiroaki Watanabe sensei, Shiatsu practitioner and Seitai master, as a special guest. Hiroaki sensei graduated from the Japan Shiatsu College in Tokyo in 2002, and has experienced 10 years of deputy director of Chiropractic and Shiatsu massage clinic, 5 years of teaching SEITAI therapy, treatment, and spinal manipulative therapy, 1 year of instructor of Shiatsu foundation course at Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy in Vancouver, Canada. He is also member of an executive board of SEITAI school. 8 members attended this precious opportunity. This time, Hiroaki sensei lectured "Treatment for Shoulder Joint". Here is the videos and picture of the workshop. His lecture was such an eye opener for Shiatsu therapists.

Canadian
Shiatsu Society & Friends Team in Vancouver Sun Run 2013 Canadian Shiatsu Society of BC had a great opportunity to join the Vancouver Sun Run in 2013 as a cooperation team. The purpose was to popularize Shiatsu in BC as well as to have fun with Shiatsu supporters. Total 10 people have registered with our team, and all participants enjoyed running. The part of registration fee of the Vancouver Sun Run has been paid to each team members as appreciation to promote "SHIATSU". |

Fundraising
event with Youth Project for Japan On October 14, 2012, Fundraising for Japanese Tsunami victims, which was organized by "Youth Project for Japan", was held at Vancouver Central Library. The CSSBC was grad to co-sponsor the event, and offered "Shiatsu demonstration" and "Family Shiatsu Workshop" for the public. Youth Project for Japan offered "Photo Exhibition ~Disaster Area in TOHOKU" by Junichi Kuroda and Masumi Snyder. A huge flag for message to TOHOKU people was also provided there. Over 80 people visited the event and donated some money with their sincere heart. Total $1133 was collected by the fundraising, and all money and message flags were sent to the Iwate Learning Hope Fund. It was huge success!!

In attendance Hikari Ikenaga, Kiyoshi Ikenaga, Aya Sobashima A proxy by Yoko Trapp, kazunori Kishi, Kanako Saitoh, Said Ben-Laghrib, and Jan Auger was submitted by Kiyoshi Ikenaga. A proxy by Keita Ochiai, Tomomi Ozawa, Maria Thomas, Momoko Shimada, Mariko Wanatabe, Sonia Bresil, Yasuhiro Tamada, and Akiko Shimane was submitted by Hikari Ikenaga. Contents 1. The Activity Report was presented by Aya Sobashima, secretary, and a copy given to everyone in attendance. 2. The Financial Repost was presented by Hikari Ikenaga, Treasurer and approved by attendees. 3. The 2012-2013 current membership was reported by Kiyoshi Ikenaga, membership committee. The CSSBC will make a reminder e-mail to the members of 2011-2012 who haven't renewed for 2012-2013 membership yet. 4. Raise of Membership fee The CSSBC membership fee will be raised from July 1, 2013. The reasons of raising membership fee are the below.
a. Current members submitting the renewal application before it expires ・ $100 annual membership fee only b. First time applicants submitting the application for whole year ・ $25 Application fee (no change) ・ $100 annual membership fee c. First time applicants submitting the application during midyear ・ $25 Application fee (no change) ・ @$10×rest of the months of the effected term as annual membership fee d. Applicants who used to be members but his/her membership already expired preceding year ・ $100 Revival fee ・ $100 annual membership fee or @$10×rest of the months of the effected term as annual membership fee B) School members a. $100 Annual membership fee only (no change) 5. Future activities A) The CSSBC Charity Shiatsu Committee a. Shiatsu Demonstration for the fundraising for the victims of Japanese Tsunami is going to be held at Vancouver Central Library on October 14, 2012. b. 15th anniversary fundraising events will be orgnized. B) The CSSBC Educational Committee a. Family Shiatsu Workshop for the fundraising for the victims of Japanese Tsunami is going to be held at Vancouver Central Library on October 14, 2012. b. Family Shiatsu Workshop will be organized once every 2-3 months. c. As 15th anniversary event, Continuing Professional Educational for CSSBC members, will be organized this year, and an instructor, Shiatsu expert, will be invited from Japan. The expenses of transportation and accommodation and instruction fee will be paid by CSSBC. C) Working CSSBC Google account by $300/month, $3600/year. D) Trying to establish "Shiatsupractor" status, and Extend Health care coverage for Shiatsu treatment E) Volunteering for Nikei New year's party as a co-sponsor. F) Activating CSSBC website, include shiatsuvideo.com and shiatsutherapy.org, and Facebook. 6. Other topics To assemble more participants, 2013 AGM will be organized in evening which might be convenience for the members to take part in. 7. Shiatsu
Day for Charity On
April 19, 2012. the CSSBC offered "Shiatsu demonstration" as well
as "Family Shiatsu Workshop" for the public. We have taught "What
is Shiatsu?", "What are the benefits of Shiatsu?", and "How to
give self & chair Shiatsu" on the workshop.
All participants enjoyed learning "SHIATSU" very well, and it made us motivate to the next workshop. We also had "Photo Exhibition ~Disaster Area Kamaishi City in IWATE~" by Masumi Snyder at the same time. These pictures were impressing to the participants a lot. The CSSBC collected $425. All money has been sent to the "Iwate Learning Hope Fund". Thank you very much all your support. We'll continue these opportunity to popularize Shiatsu in Canada and to help not only Japan but also other countries. |

Shiatsu for Charity The
CSSBC Charity Shiatsu Committee organized by the Canadian
Shiatsu Society of BC (CSSBC) had great oppourtunity
to hole "Shiatsu for Charity" for the first memorial day of the Japan
Earthquake and Tsunami. Almost one year has passed already since the
Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. However, Japan still needs a lot of help
to recover. We offered Shiatsu treatments for the public by suggestion
price.
Charity concert organized by BC-JERF, and Photo exhibition organized by Japan Love Project were also held on the day. Over 80 people registered and experienced the great and valuable opportunity, and the CSSBC collected $2217. All money has been sent to the Fukushima Prefecture Orphans' Fund. Thank you very much all your support, and let's pray for Japan!! |

Shiatsu Fundraising for the Victims of Japan
Earthquake and Tsunami
The
Canadian Shiatsu Society of BC (CSSBC) had a great
opportunity to
hold a Shiatsu Fundraising event for the
victims of the Japan Earthquake with BC-JERF, and BC-JSN at Aberdeen
Centre
in Richmond city, on April 17, 2011. 13 Shiatsupractors and 6 volunteer
members took part in the fundraising where the CSSBC offered
Shiatsu for the public starting from $10/10
minutes. Over 65
people registered
and experienced the great and valuable opportunity, and the CSSBC
collected $1275 including the donation from Mr. Harry Bloy, MLA and the
Ministry of Social development and multiculturalism
of BC. It
was huge success!! We really appreciate all the support this
time. All donations were sent to the Red Cross on April 18, 2011. An
article of the fundraising was appeared on the Minkei
News Online Vancouver.
